Teri, what a great thing you did!!! That good deed will be returned to you tenfold I'm sure!

This might have been mentioned and I don't recall it at this moment - but would it be a good idea for John to contact as many vets in the area as possible? Suppose somebody took Fergus in for "shots" or something as if it were THEIR dog? If they had a picture of Fergus they could be on the watch for any Cairns coming in for care?

No new news on Fergus. By now we have left posters with all the vets or called them. We have given out posters to mail carriers. Left some at post offices. Handed them out to city water bureau people. Given them (or emailed a master) to all our friends in the city. As a group, we have hit all the dog parks. We have people 50 miles away doing posters. I just placed an ad w/picture with an agency that does all the classifieds for a large group of small newspapers that covers the Portland meto area and suburbs. We haven't gotten our "human interest" story in the tv/press yet, but we're working on it. We also plan to contact the meals-on-wheels people. The Portland metro area has 1.7 million people with more in the nearby suburb towns; so a door to door is beyond our capabilities except on a limited basis. And of course the on-line search continues...

oh, this just breaks my heart that he hasn't come home yet. Let's not give up hope for little Fergus.

I keep checking in several times a day hoping and praying that Fergus has been found. It breaks my heart to know that he is out there lost and just can't find his way home. Having a puppy that ran away, I know the pure panic that runs through your veins. God, please, please, bring Fergus home.

I'm so sorry John. :( I just know your little Fergus is out there. Don't lose hope! Stay positive that he will be found.

I wish I had an icon to light a candle for Fergus. Maybe someone on the forum can add a "candle" icon. (hint)

I light a candle, in my heart, for Fergus every day. It breaks my heart that he has not been found. Having had Finch lost for an hour, and knowing that she was running down a busy street until a stranger took her into her car for safety, gives me hope that Fergus is safe inside somebodys home and they just don't know how to get him home.

I'm so sorry!!! I keep checking & hoping Fergus is home. Don't ever give up hope. My boss had a miniture pincher that got out of his yard & was gone for several months. They also put fliers out everywhere, at all the vet's offices & the shelters. One day, several months later, they got a call from a vet & someone had brought their dog in to get her shots. Come to find out the girl's mother had found her & the daughter wanted her. Needless to say they got their beloved pet back. So prayers are answered. You & yours will be in my thoughts & prayers until he comes home.

If the person who has Fergus could see how much this dog is loved....not only by his owners but by people who have never met him. Prayers, hope, good thoughts and love....we have to believe it can work.

I can't wait to read the post that says "Fergus is back". Until then... :candle:

:) You folks are all so wonderful. Certainly if good thoughts can bring Fergus home, he is on his way. Unfortunately, we have heard nothing so far. We haven't given up hope, but I think we are mentally exhausted and a bit numb. Hopefully we have the word out in enough places that something will happen. Thanks, John

I would also frequent every vet in a 50 mile radius, perhaps Fergus has or will show up at one eventually. Good Luck.
