That's a good idea Scully's Mom. My mom told me my great-grandma liked St. Anthony, she would always say she would have to have a talk with "Tony" Maybe I'll say a few things to "Tony" to help our Fergus.

Even if someone found him and didn't see the missing posters or don't get on the internet, they would still have to buy some food for him. I'd have his poster at every major grocery store and chain store that sells dog food along w/ pet stores. There's a chance whoever found him has pets of their own and are feeding Fergus that. They may not have gone out to buy more yet. It's driving me crazy not to be able to do more. If I lost one of mine, I think I'd get a loud microphone hooked up to my van and go up and down streets announcing my missing dog w/ posters containing info/picture on the sides of my van. Those speakers are really loud. Some religious nuts were using them along a busy road once condemning everyone for everything and the microphone was so loud, you could hear them a block away. Even a little lady w/ hearing aids would hear my plea for my dog. Fergus is in my prayers and I'm staying positive that he WILL be found and returned to you.

John

are you anywhere near Vancouver, Washington?

If you are...I have a friend who might be able to help pass

out flyers. Please let me know.

Still nothing new.

My wife has stopped all the postage carriers she sees (starting with ours) and given them posters. Same with the garbage collectors. She (Ruth) is highly social and well connected, so we have lots of people looking and passing out flyers all over the city. I've already gone through over 500 posters and flyers and will print another 150 tonight. The breeder is checking out Animal Control in Vancouver, WA (across the river from us) onher way back from a show further north. We have ads in all the local newspapers. Notices in in all the internet locations I can find. I check those daily for found pets. Ruth is going to check with the neighborhood and Portland papers to see if they might run a "human interest" story, maybe with picture. We have put up posters in grocery & chain stores in addition to the pet stores and vets. The police tracking dog thing is a possibility. I will let my wife see what she can do on that one.

With fingers crossed.... John

Fergus is so lucky to have loving parents who are working so hard to find him. I think the human interest story is a great idea, our local tv does those often. You should tell them people would love to see a heartwarming story about people being reunited with their lost dog.

:( Well, unfortunately there has been no change - Fergus is still among the missing. We are just playing a waiting game now... for someone to feel guilty and turn him in, for him to escape and find his way home, for someone to rat out their neighbor, for someone to take him to the Vet... we keep widening the search. It is now just over a week since he disappeared.

Now I wish he wasn't so well potty trained!!! maybe if he pooped all over their house they would return him.

John:

I was so hoping to hear you had Fergus back- The link below lists the 'meals on wheels' programs in your area. Even though it's remote, maybe Fergus has become an Eldery person's new best friend- A long shot I admit........

I keep checking in to see if Fergus is home. I can't believe how much this bothers me. I just know if I were to lose one, I'd be a basket case. I'm not sure about your local news, but where I am they have a short segment at the end on some local person and a situation they need resolved. If Fergus is w/ someone who maybe doesn't get out much but does watch the news, maybe showing his picture might get them to come forward w/ him. It's only been a week, a very long week for you but please don't give up. I'm praying as I type this that you will get your Fergus back.

So sorry to hear that you don't have Fergus back yet. I agree wih Beth....I'd be a basket case!!!

Not sure how big your town is??? But, what about printing flyers and placing them in mailboxes? You could probably enlist some neighbors kids to help.

It bothers me too....I think about him so often and pray he comes home safe and sound.

We have a local newspaper that recently ran a story with pictures about a divorcing couple who had a small dog. The wife gave the dog away during the proceedings knowing that her husband wanted to keep him. He frantically searched for the person who was given his dog but no one came forward. It was only after the piece ran in our newspaper that the woman who had him came forward and gave the dog back to the husband.

I'd think the more the media gets involved in any situation, the more likely people are to come forward. No one wants to get caught having something that belongs to someone else. And there might just be a witness who saw Fergus but didn't think anything about a wandering dog at the time.

I wasn't on all weekend and just KNEW that Fergus would be back when I logged in this am!! I can't imagine how hard it is to wait. I agree with everyone that said to call the local news or newspapers and see if they will run a story. I would also begin to put flyers in mailboxes near your home. The more exposure the better!

Edited to add that I am still  for Fergus' safe return home!!!! Imagine how glad he will be to see you!!

I helped a doggie find it's way home on Friday, I wish it could have been Fergus....

Went home early Friday because we were going out of town. Girls were barking at something outside so i went to take a look. Went out thru the garage and the cutest little grey poodle was standing on my porch just looking at the front door.

I clapped and tried talking to the dog to make sure it was friendly. I got no response and knew this poor doggie was deaf. I picked her up and she was just so sweet and calm. I walked aorund the neighborhood for about 30 minutes to ask if anyone recongnized her and nobody did. I went home and got in my car and drove around with her. I asked several more people and one guy said he was just in the subdivision over from us and saw a poster for missing grey poodle.

I drove over there and called the number. I was able to drive her home.

The woman was in tears.................... The poodle had gotten out that morning when the cable guy came. The people had just moved into the home on Monday. The dog was deaf and blind. Poor thing had just gotten lost.

I felt so happy to return the dog. I was so worried about leaving the dog out on the street knowing it was deaf.

I hope some nice person finds Fergus and brings him home too :)

Oh Teri, that story melted my heart. I'll bet you felt like a million bucks after doing such a wonderful thing.

Now let's pray that someone kind and compassionate as you will be the one who finds Fergus and goes out of their way to reunite him with his family.
