bhajca
We have a nine month old Cairn Terrier. We normally let him out our french doors onto a deck. Last week he started squeling and barking really loud before we opened the door. He then charges out the door barking. We don't know what to do to make him stop. We have been going to go to obedience school anyway because he jumps on people when they come over. Has anyone experienced the charging? CallisMom
When we got our Cairn we were afraid to let her out without a leash due to our unfenced yard. We only took her out on the leash and made her sit before we would open the door and wait for US to walk out first. She has since chewed through her harness and we now take her out without the leash. But . . . she STILL sits before we open the door and waits for us to go out first. Maybe you could try retraining her by taking her out only on the leash. JRM
Funnily enough our Cairn is almost 9 months and has been doing the same thing for the last month or so. I've finally clicked that she hears the birds/kids outside and runs out to investigate. Could it be this?
