kayharley
Now I know for certain that I want ANOTHER one!! He is adorable! I don't think you can predict the adult color of a Cairn puppy. Madison was a dark brindle at 3 months and now at 10 mths, she is a greyish brindle and I'm waiting for her color to change again. I find myself liking the silver/grey color. Just one more reason to get ANOTHER one !!
CathyAnn
Cute!!!! Our older Cairn changed colors many, many times. She started out light, brindle beige, gray with black tips. She then got darker after a few years. Then went back to lighter shade. Now, as a 12 year old, is almost black with gray coming in. We call her 'chameleon' doggy ! Good luck and can't wait to hear your Cairn 'tails'. Cathy Cathy and Piper
bubba
What color do you guys think he is considered? Your dog is colored like my Cooper is, and I'm told he is a red brindle. When he was a little puppy, he was quite a bit darker (the black showed more), but as he has grown and the hair has come in fuller, he has lightened up a lot. Hope yours is as feisty as ours is! pat. Guest glo
We pick him up on the 24th of June. He is 13 months old, and has parents who are Canadian American Champions. The breeder was going to show him, and I guess he didn't cut the mustard. He is crate trained, and is very sociable. We are very excited about him coming to us. I think he is adorable, but hey I am biased I am sure I will have a million questions for you guys when I get him. I hope you guys don't mind. Right now we are just nervous that he is what we have been told he is.
toomanypaws
Very nice looking cairn, so cute! I'd say he's a red brindle. We have a 3 yr old red brindle. As a puppy she was dark and then her body started to lighten up with a reddish blonde. Now at 3 she has gotten darker with the beautiful brindle colors. She always kept the dark face. <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/maiwag/terriersiggy.jpg" border="0" class="linked-sig-image" /> Beth, mom to Ninja (5), Hannah (7), Abbey (7 1/2), Kiara (10)
glo
Thanks everyone...I finally registered here, and am official here now Wrigley will be here in 12 more days and everyone is very excited. I could not tell from descriptions what color he is...I really don't care to be honest, we just want him here Do you guys think he will take long to get used to us? We will be going to our summer house soon, I hope that does not mess him up...any suggestions?
CallisMom
Glo, We go back and forth to the summer house all the time as well. The first weekend Calli was here we were at home - the second weekend - Memorial Day - we were at the summer house with a BUNCH of people - 11 children between 4-9, 2 dogs . . . She did quite well. (I think she got used to "jumping" around in her first 12 weeks!) Anyway - we always keep her favorite plushie toy with her in her crate - just for comfort purposes. She loves her crate so I think that in and of itself is comfort for her. Pretty much when we go - we bring her crate - a selection of her favorite toys - her bowls (I think the consistency of eating from HER bowls helps) - her daybed (a snoozy type bed we put on the floor for her when she's not in the crate) . . . All these things that have become hers since arriving help keep her sense of home with her. So far we have had no adjustment problems at all. Good luck!
