Can someone please tell me the water/skin so soft ratio to use to keep my Cairn free of mosquitos?

Also, does anyone know if it is safe to use the skin so soft line of bug repellant for humans on the pooch? It is deet free but not sure...Help, trying to protect my little guy from west nile...

"skin so soft" is a product by avon i've used it for years as an insect repellant on myself and my children... actally being this is our first summer with Ginger, our cairn, i hadn't thought of using it on her, but i bet it would work great with a few drops on her coat after a bath and it smells great.
