spa
According to Betty Ernst, all the measurements on the Cairns that were used for the size requirements in the Cairn Breed Standard approved by the AKC in 1938 were done at the Tapscot Kennels of Mr. and Mrs. Lindsley Tappin. This information is significant in light of the great success of the Tapscot affix in the conformation ring. Tapscot Cairns won Best of Breed at Westminster in 1930, 1931, 1932, 1933, 1935, 1940 and 1941. [To date, I am unable to find the BOB at Westminster for the year 1934.] If you know who won BOB at Westminster in 1934 or know more about Betty Ernst, feel free to post to this forum or contact me privately via <SeanPAlbert@aol.com>.
