spa
Since November 2003 ( or earlier) I have been working to have a motion brought before the CTCA BOG at its next meeting. The motion would propose the creation of an electronic Cairn history archive owned by the CTCA. The procedural tangles were simplified significantly by assurances that I need not worry about sending a proposed motion to the Corresponding Secretary because a motion will be brought before the CTCA BOG by one or more of the elected members of that group during its next scheduled meeting. Recently, the thought occurred to me that the CTCA might put together a collection of AKC Gazette Cairn Breed columns from 1917 to date, along with noteworthy photos and articles, in preparation for the celebration of the CTCA's 90th anniversary in 2007. Setting this goal would enable CTCA members to pool their collective historic resources before paying the AKC library for missing items. Are there any CTCA members who have any thoughts on the creation of an electronic Cairn history archive or the collection and publication of an anthology of AKC Cairn Breed Columns in preparation for the 90th anniversary of the CTCA? spa
Has anyone heard any news about the motion placed before the CTCA BOG at its March 2004 Meeting in Texas that proposed the creation of an Internet-based Cairn History Archive under CTCA auspices? Was the motion granted/approved? Sean PS Please feel free to reply privately via <SeanPAlbert@aol.com>.
spa
Sandra Murray, CTCA Corresponding Secretary, and newly published author, confirmed via e-mail that "work will proceed on the establishment of such an internet archive of historical materials as approved by the History Committee and under the supervision of its Chair."
