toomanypaws
I was searching collectables on ebay to get an idea of what to price some dog figurines I'm selling. I was scrolling down to a particular breed, when this Bichon caught my eye. It looked so real, that I had to check out the seller. Sure enough, she sold a Cairn in the past. It's not perfect, but I've never seen an artist catch the expression of the eyes like this artist did. I know the ears could be better, but the eyes and muzzle sure look real, at least to me. I believe this one here sold for $910. This picture is too cute! Doesn't the Cairn look real? Of course, mine would be barking. Beth, mom to Ninja (5), Hannah (7), Abbey (7 1/2), Kiara (10)
Barney's Mom
Wow! That really looks like an actual Cairn! And costs more than a real one!!! Gee, she may be on to something here. If you add up the cost of all the real dog would destroy, and the fact that the stuffed one wouldn't need to go to the vet, be let out for potty, cost of toys, crates, etc., this may be the way to go!! Just kidding.... that stuffed one can't give a warm lick on your cheek..... All creatures great and small, the Lord God, He made them all!
Darcy's Mom
I have to agree that the Cairn does look remarkably "alive" with those beautiful eyes. But $900 for a stuffed Cairn. Why pay that much when a real one is so much better? The cost about half? Prices differ with every breeder, I know, but here in the South Cairns go for about 350 to 400. Yep, can't beat those wet puppy/doggy kisses.
TNA
I guess I should have lived in the south. Here in the SW, depending on breeder and pedigree, they go from $700-1200. Is that last picutre a painting as well? That definetly looks like a photo.
bradl
I believe it's a photo of the stuffed Cairn posed at the window with some real dogs. CAIRNTALK: Questions? toomanypaws
It really is amazing to me what people will pay for a stuffed dog. I looked at some of the other dogs she's sold and some of them sold anywhere from $1,200 to over $2,000! Beth, mom to Ninja (5), Hannah (7), Abbey (7 1/2), Kiara (10)
TNA
I think I need a clarification. Are these stuffed animals or paintings? Maybe I should go on EBay and check it out.

kcsdogs
Wow that is a fake dog? Cool, coat texture is too soft but it looks real.
brin145
Cool, coat texture is too soft but it looks real Yes, my dh was remarking that the head coat was too "poofy" and that the dog had a Zsa Zsa Gabor look. The muzzle and the eyes were great though. Looking at that page led me to a tobacco collector card page and then another page....I could spend a lot of time looking at the Cairn stuff. I think the antique cards are very cool.

pookiegirl
Hi Beth, Thanks for posting an updated link for this woman's "about me" webpage. Perhaps my link was outdated. I wanted to correct it but it seems the "edit" option has disappeared for my post. I hope other members take a peek at her webpage. I think she is an inspiring individual!
