I will miss Jamie Abhalter

In our short lives on earth we meet people who enrich them and make them better, Jamie was one of those special people. She passed away this past Friday and I miss Jamie so much but know she will be with me forever because of how she touched my life. When I found out she had passed away I was camping, I was in a calm beautiful place in the middle of the woods. I think it was really where I needed to be. I could feel Jamie all around me and had time to reflect on all the wonderful things we shared in the short time I had know her. I will miss her very much. I was still in disbelief when a small miracle of nature occurred, there was a gust of wind and when I looked at the sky it looked as if it was snowing leaves, they were all the colors of Cairns falling from the heavens. Jamie would have loved the moment I knew it. Of all the people I have met since I realized my love for the breed, Jamie was the one that I had such a connection with. She truly loved life and lived it to the fullest. I still have a very difficult time believing I can

I hadn't seen Jamie in years and I had a very nice time talking with her at Montgomery this year. She looked bright and happy. She spoke of her work with Nanette - and you! - as the pleasant task of talking dogs, pedigrees, and sharing the lore, history, and love of the breed, so it does not become lost with the passing of generations. I am sorry you lost a friend. I'm sorry we've all lost Jamie.
