Drew's Broken Leg

Sorry about not having updated the "Broken Leg" saga. Drew got his cast off on December 19th - and just in time as he was told it was coming off that day and by the time I got home he had it nearly off himself! He is fine, leg a little stiff to begin with, looked liked a boiled turkey leg, but he is running and leaping and hopping like he never had a problem. We are taking him on long walks again (or rather my husband is) and he runs through the house like a steam engine. Those six weeks were perhaps the longest of our lives but Drew is a young healthy pup with a long life ahead of him and many adventures before him. I just hope none of them result in a broken anything. At least since he had so much to worry about with the leg he never noticed having his dew claws removed and being neutered. He runs up the stairs of our three-story house but still will not go down the stairs. I hope all your puppies of every age and size are happy and healthy in the new year. I am glad I read about Cairns after I got him because I might have missed out on this terrific buddy and gotten a basset hound - and wouldn't I have been the poorer for that?
