"Puppy on runway" a Cairn?

Hi everyone! Been a lurker here since I got my Cairn Trapper 2 years ago... Anyway I was on CNN.com this morning and clicked on the video link about a puppy on an airport runway in Burbank (puppy is safe). The narrative said it was a 7 lb Yorkie, (I have one of those too!) but the little guy sure looks like a wheaten Cairn to me! Can't find a link to post, but maybe you can check it out.

Oh, that poor baby!!!! I hate to think that it got loose from someone's crate who was taking it on the plane! They must be about half sick!! So glad it didn't get hurt. Can you imagine the fright in that poor dog's body, being on a plane runway!

Hope he is with his owners now, or with a loving home! Hey, they could name him Runway! Well, maybe not......

No, that is definitely not a Yorkie. I think it's a terrier mix. I do see alot of Wheaten Cairn in him. I'm just glad he's safe and now wish he either gets back w/ his owner or someone adopts him. Whatever he is, he's a cutie.

Thanks, Bradl. I watched the 2 videos. The second showed how cute he was. I hope he'll find his family or a new home soon.

Poor thing. The article said he is in a shelter and they've had several calls about adopting him. They've named him "Taxi," which is really cute.

They carried that story on our local news the other night. The newscaster said the dog weighed 7 pounds which is yorkie sized but I thought it had the hard hair and coloring of a cairn. It acted just like Cassie when you try to catch her. It shut down the Burbank Airport the little dickens.

I saw the same item on Fox News, and I sure thought it looked like a young Cairn. Definitely a cute little guy! Glad he's safe. Hagar

i was thinking that since they chased him all over the tarmac that "Mac" would be a cute name. I'm sure a cutie like him is already adopted out.

On GMA they had a story about said pup and showed the person that got the dog in a raffle at the shelter. The pup really looked like a Cairn when it was getting a bath.Strangly, the new owner was in the Aviation field. Did you know the dogs name was "Taxi"?:huh:

It's because cats simply can't be trusted for heavy lifting & dirty work required in the war on terrior.

Poor little guy! He must have been scared to death! I'm glad that he is safe now, and I love the name they gave him!
