What other pets have you guys had in the past or have now

I had three sons so we had bunches of different pets

Snakes, of course they were always in the cage

Iguana, his name was Don and he was pretty tame

birds: Finches, a mean Love Bird and now a Sun Conure who barks like a dog

Chinchilla, they are nice pets no odor, he lived for 11 years that was before Cairns

Albanio Skunk named Edgar, He belonged to my middle son, he would sleep with him at night but I was the only one who could clip Edgars nails and he would chase sock feet and bite at heels

A kitten who went to live with Grandmother because she was afraid of my boys....

Fish

A lop eared bunny rabbit

Irish Setter, first family dog the best!, Wolf, Springer Spaniel, , a second Irish Setter who was nothing like the first and now two Cairns and a Pug

Rebel, Hammurabi, Sugar, Dirty Harry, Paint, Duncan and Saffron

4 horses. Daisy does pretty good around them. She barked quite a bit at first but now just when the horses antagonize her. She's afraid of them when there's not a gate to separate - which is good, our horses are hard on dogs.

1 Ridgeback. Daisy's "big sis".

Misc barn cats. They come and go. Die and rebuild. We have one female kitty that doesn't mind the dogs but she had kittens recently and moved them elsewhere (wonder why!) so we only see her now and then.

Oh, can't forget our son's Betta, Smat. Daisy has no clue he's even here.

That's what we have now. We've always had pets of some sort.

Gerbils, rats, birds, tadpoles/frogs, 53847463 horses, dogs and cats. All of which have lived long, healthy lives.

Wow!!! I haven't had near as many as you but here goes:

-Fish - like a million of them while I was a child.

-Rescue mutt named Belle. I got a puppy when I was 4 from the pound. I had her 2 days and she died of Parvo. I was crushed so Daddy went and got me another one that looked similar to her. I named puppy #2 Belle too since my first Belle didn't live but 2 days. She died when I was 16. She was an outside dog and was terrified of thunder storms. During thunderstorms she became an inside dog. Normally she would not budge off the rug in the livingroom by the back door but if it got really rough outside, I would find her asleep in my bedroom. She also would not walk on a leash and would not leave the back yard even if the gate was left opened and she was left unsupervised (hard to imagine now that I have Savannah) She was the greatest little dog and I still miss her as much today as I did the day she died.

-Cat - My ex-boyfriend got me a kitten for my birthday. I named her Punkin. She lived with me until I got married. When I married, she did not adjust well to the change of being moved from one house to another and didn't adjust to Mom and Dad not being in the house so after a week, she moved back in with my Mom and dad. she is still living there today and has become my Mom's cat.

-And then there was Savannah. My first inside dog, first Cairn and our first baby. I will never live a day for the rest of my life without a Cairn in it. :D

We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made.

As a child we had several dogs, lots of farm cats, duck called Donald (how original), budgie plus lots of other animals.

Before I married I had 2 border collies Peggy and Jesse, a cat Phoebe (who lost the battle with a tiger snake :( ) more budgies and guinea pigs.

Now I have 3 chn and we have:

Mice - both now gone.

Fish, fish and more fish...

Tadpoles/frogs

Guinea pigs called Pig and Poppy

Wiero named Misty

Cat named Minnie (cos when we got her from the cat shelter she was the smallest kitten in the litter). She is now 16+ years and has coped real well with 2 cairns invading her quiet life.

Roxy and Susie my 2 cairns (and like savannahsmom I can't see myself ever not having a cairn  )

Wow it would be hard to list all of the animals I have had. As a child I suffered from a mom who was one of those that would get a pet and as soon as the poor thing aggravated her she would send it packing. Some lasted longer than others though.

We had a Rottie named Apollo that I loved walking around the base(we were military at the time), he was a great dog and at the same time we had a shorthaired persian cat, they loved each other and played like they were best friends. The cat, Pandora stayed with us , and moved in with my hubby and I when we got married, unfortunately she died a few years ago :( .

That's when I got a pound kitty, Jumbo, black and white beautiful cat! Jumbo is slowly but surely getting used to Izzy, the cairn pup, being here. He's doing really well though. This cat is so laid back, especially with kids (2,4, 10) so I know him and Izzy will be great friends soon.

We also have some saltwater fish and a turtle named Franklin.

Growing up, we had a collie/beagle mix, Tippy. He died when I was 18. In my early teens, dad brought home a beagle/husky mix puppy, Noel that someone dumped at a gas station. She lived 17 yrs. In high school I found a daushund, Fritz. We contacted the owners who said to keep him because he runs away and had been hit by a car. Paralysis set in and he eventually had to be put to sleep. Besides the dogs, growing up I had Cookie the kitten, Toby the guinea pig, Noisy the rabbit, Tubber the duck, plus several parakeets.

My first dog on my own was an Irish Setter, Grady. A tumor took him at 9 yrs. I had a mini-lop named Binky, then got another one named Buster. Someone gave me 2 dwarfs and they had 3 adorable babies which I found homes for. I bred birds, so there's too many to list. I loved my button quail that were in my aviary. I also had several salt water aquariums. Then I saved up to purchase my Choc. Lab., Mousse. It's still hard talking about him. He lived to be 11. I seemed to be the dumping ground for unwanted pets and went through several dogs living w/ me for a short time before finding them good homes. I was given Mousse's mom Mocha, but she stayed w/ my ex.

My dh & I started w/ just Mousse, then we rescued a calico kitten we named Bushido. Then we added our siamese mix, Tai. He will be 10 in Aug. Then we brought home a rescue, our Aussie, Shiloh. I was still breeding birds, so there's still too many to list. We moved from Jacksonville to the Panhandle w/ 1 baby, 2 dogs, 2 cats and several cages of birds. I have since quit breeding birds and we now only have a cockatoo and lovebird. We added another Lab, Thor and then tried a rescue male Cairn, Kato. He was too agressive towards the Labs, so we found him a great home w/ an older man. We knew we wanted another Cairn, so we decided to get a female. Once we got Kiara, we were hooked and have reached our limit w/ 3 Cairns. :P We added another kitten, Granger last year who pretty much runs the house. We've had a couple guinea pigs and hamsters, and several fish. We currently have 1 rabbit and 1 blk bear hamster. I won't list all of the reptiles (no snakes) that we've had, but now we just have 1 bearded dragon, 2 geckos, and 1 uromastyx and 1 betta.

We have had many Cairns growing up, fish, guinea pigs, turtles, cats, crabs (not THAT kind...lol!), butterflies..... :P

We've had gerbils, hamsters, cats, dogs, birds (cockatiels), and a rabbit.

Right now I have 3 Cairns, a gerbil and two fully stocked fish tanks.

So........I need a bird, rodents and at least a puddycat to keep the pet parade going. And I would love to have a lizard although the family has put their foot down to reptiles.

My next life has me down as Mrs. Noah.....two of everything on our ark although I might just forget "Noah" at the dock and set sail with only animals and me....
