Can you say tired

I did my good deed for the next couple of years! My parents needed to replace the carpet and my hubby and boys put down a Pergo floor for them this weekend. They have two collies and the vacuming was getting the best of them so we decided to put down Pergo now all they have to do is sweep. I have it in my kitchen and its great and the puppies nails don't bother it so it seemed logical. In a couple of days after I am not so sore it will be a good idea agian. Right now I wonder if I should do things like this to my body.

Mom wants us to put it in her kitchen and we will sometime near the end of the summer or when my brother comes to visit!

Anyone else have a lamante floor? I do love mine!

Yes, I can definitely say tired! We live in a converted dancehall with all wooden floors so you can imagine the size of that :(

Is there such a thing as a ride-on floor sweeper and washer?

By the way - what's a Swiffer (I've led a sheltered life)?

Cheers

That makes me excited! We are having our carpet ripped off and just going for the hardwood floor that's underneath it. We're also putting down laminate floors in the kitchen. I'm just anxious of the chaos while the floors are being done (we hired professionals -- this is a BIG project that my husband and I cannot possibly finish ourselves). Hallswel, you did a great job!!

I love my Swiffer, but Crunch gets insane when it is out. He thinks it is a WILD ANIMAL that he MUST attack!

I don't know how people survive with pets or kids + carpet! Kids spit up, puppies pee and poop when being housebroken, drinks get spilled, food gets dropped, and on and on! We were very fortunate to buy and renovate a very old house that had lovely oak hardwood floors in every room but the kitchen and bathroom. My sister in law gave us a beautiful Turkish persian rug that we use in the living room and we use an area rug in our bedroom. The only room with carpet is my daughter's room and that is getting ready to be ripped up! I can't decide whether or not to redo the floor under her carpet or get new. Carpet is so loaded with toxic chemicals, I am leaning toward the wood.

All you folks who have hardwood will probably feel much better physically in the long run and have made a great decision, not only for yourself but also for your precious animals! Carpet is hazardous to your health! :toxic: Believe it or not, the chemicals used in carpet are called "gender benders" because of the effects they have on the hormones of small children. I heard that on NPR one time! Kinda scary!

ANYWAY, Barney has blessed my hardwood floor a few times and I love the fact that I can zap it with Nature's Miracle and be done with it!!!

All creatures great and small, the Lord God, He made them all!
