New pics of Crunch and Gus

They are too cute together. My Abbey was only 6 mths when we brought Hannah home. The two of them have always gotten along. Kiara was 3 yrs and a little more hesitant meeting Hannah. We supervised them all of the time and started to let our guard down thinking Kiara was accepting Hannah, when Kiara snapped at Hannah during play. We had Hannah over 2 mths when this happened.

We separated them for a long time and slowly allowed them together while being supervised. That was the only incident ever. Kiara still gets moody at night and prefers to have some "alone" time away from Abbey and Hannah, which we respect, but she has welcomed Hannah into our family and now enjoys playing w/ her.

great pictures! I love that blue look to cairn puppy eyes.

Beth-poor baby with that scar~ I am glad they are getting on better now. Abe was also slow to decide whether he like Scruf or not and at times likes to keep him at distant, and others, play like they are soul mates! Guess we just have to remember they have moods like us adults.

Crunch has a hesitant look in his eyes at first...like..hmmmm.....They are adorable.

Toomanypaws OUCH...that looks like Sophie's nose when she first came and didn't have respect for the cats....she caught a claw full on the snout, changed her mind.

How cute. I love it. Kisses for the baby. Rebel did that with Sugar when we brought her home.

Binky, Crunch is almost 11 months old.

Beth, last night was the first night that they played together supervised. I was so nervous that Crunch would get too rough. I have seen how he shakes his stuffed animals by the neck! Poor Hannah's little nose. I feel like it is going to be a long time before I am comfortable to let them play together freely. The little one is fearless and goes out for an attack with those razor sharp teeth. He is not timid at all. He doesn't know he is tiny.

Hallswell, Sugar is what started this puppy longing. How long did it take before you were comfortable with Rebel and Sugar being out of crates together?

I too was very nervous intoducing Teona to Tabby. I kept all playtime supervised.

This picture was from the first day we brought her home. I guess it should have told me how things would be very early on.........Teona being alpha in the house.

So Tabby didn't have problems with a little squirt being alpha  ? I guess I just assumed Crunch would fall into alpha role. Hmm...Gus is definitely more fiesty than Crunch was as a pup. My son remarked this morning that this one doesn't want to cuddle like Crunch did.

Brin, first of all...your Gus is the cutest!! It really looks as though Crunch and Gus are gonna be the best of friends. I have an :offtopic: question for you...

I know that Crunch is exactly the same age as Harry (his first birthday is coming up on April 27th) but Crunch's hair is so beautiful. It looks healthy and shiney. My pup's hair is so coarse and out of shape (see photo) Obviously, I have never stripped his coat. I am planning to do it in April when it warms up a little more. Assuming you already stripped Crunch, when did you do it? How many times in his first year have you stripped him?? Did you strip him by hand or did you use the Mars Coat King? Even his face looks so nice! Great job!! (Sorry off topic). Thanks!

Teri, that Tabby looks great too!!) Can one of you come to Maine and show me how to do that??

Lisad,

I think Harry looks great. Crunch doesn't have a very coarse coat like Harry's. I love how the hair stands straight up framing Harry's little face. I remember reading a post from you somewhere talking about how you were having trouble with pulling. I thought, "I'm with ya sister!". Crunch hasn't been cut and I don't use the Mars King Coat. I took him to have some stripped about a month or so ago. I asked the groomer to go light on the stripping. I have since then gritted my teeth and found that I have pulled out tons of hair, but only from certain areas. I used some thinning shears only around his face cause that hair is just not loose at all. I can't get hardly any off his chest (by pulling) or his hindquarters for that matter. You can tell that it is attached and I am hurting him. So, a full body shot would show how uneven he is. Maybe that hair will loosen later. Thanks from Crunch for the compliment. Crunch would be happy if I would quit trying to pull his hair into the perfect Cairn shape. I just want a healthy coat, so I am not giving up. My hubby says that we are just now getting the hang of this rolling technique. We plan on starting earlier with the new pup.
