kjwarnold
Looks good, and you'll get better at it as you keep working. Packy gets very "short-haired" and sleek looking after I use the MCK, really soft, too. But it all grows out and he looks fuzzy and yak-like. I like that "yak" comparison! toomanypaws
I find it amazing how much fur I take off of mine w/ the MCK, especially my youngest one, who has a ton of fur. I still wish I knew how to shape their faces. Beth, mom to Ninja (5), Hannah (7), Abbey (7 1/2), Kiara (10)
tena
Poor Sophie has gone through a nightmare of hair issues since I got her in late Oct. If she was vain, she would be shattered by now. When she arrived her hair was almost white, and touched the ground in places. It came out by the handful. She went to the groomer who cut her like a scottie, short back, long tummy and legs. Then she was spayed and had a mastectomy, this left her entire belly and chest bare. She had an odd skirt of hair on both sides with wild and wooly back legs. A few weeks later we get after her with the shears and match the growing in belly with the ruff of belly and trim inches of dried dead hair from her legs. Now we have the coat king thing. And the volume of hair that is growing in, has been reduced enormously. Getting 3 years of neglect off of her fur has been a challenge. I need to trim her feet...that ought to be fun, sounds like a two person job. My main goal... Keep her clean and comfortable Optimim goal..To make her look like a cairn terrier...lol Sophie
kayharley
Not to go off topic but spring is a good time to put all that Cairn fur to good use. Birds just love animal hair for their nests. I make sure to always have a good supply handy just for them.

The last time I did my dogs outside and left a pile of fur, little Hannah snuck and retrieved a mouthful. Beth, mom to Ninja (5), Hannah (7), Abbey (7 1/2), Kiara (10)
tena
Tuck the fur in a tree branch or in some shrubs. A friend had a bird nest on her porch last spring, when the bird left ...the nest was completely lined with her st. bernards's fur. Excellent idea Sophie
