kayharley
We don't have a very large house so every inch of space is precious. I now have room for my bowflex and it seems the crew likes their double decker arrangement...let's just hope there is no spite factor that cause Maddy to eliminate on her brother. Scully'sMom
Hey, it's the Cairn version of Hollywood Squares!!! I love it - did they do rock, paper, scissors to see who got the top bunk?
suedelu29
I was actually thinking of doing the very same thing! It seems very practical to me Space is hard to come by for me too.
tena
That is very cool, now mind you at my house...the big Tabby cat would claim the top of the top cage...and intimidate everybody below. I am also spaces challenged and when I did feral cat rescue. I stacked crates all the time. If fact it was one of the 'selling' points to get people to rescue...how much rescue you could do in a small place. Sophie
Lesley
smart idea - and looks so comfy. It sure is nice to have extra room - more toy's to scatter about.
maggie
Great idea! I'm impressed by their bedding, Kai-lee tend to tear/shred most anything used for bedding...Towels, blankets, pads, whatever!!!!
Brody'sMom
Very nice, can they jump up there themselves? We are in the process of remodeling our kitchen and the area we call the atrium, which is where Brody and Mia used to have their ex-pens. We could not figure out where there ex-pen (we had decided they were going to share one) was going to go, when we saw this show on HGTV that featured crates that look like furniture. We decided to order Brody and Mia the largest size dog crate for them to share and it can double as a hall table. Wen it gets here I'll post a picutre. The website is www.cratehaven.com. savannahsmom35
That is the coolest thing! I will keep that in mind in case Savannah every gets another playmate... We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made. -M. brin145
KayHarley, I'm sure they love it. They probably feel like they have a bird's eye view when on the "top floor". Brody'a mom, That website for crate furniture is one that is going to cause problems for me. I really don't need to be replacing a crate, but I LOVE those crates. Thanks for the website URL!!!! Milopup
A bit OT .....is it better to have the crates covered or uncovered? We always cover ours, but now am thinking it is claustrophobic for our pup.
kayharley
Madison is in the crate and Elliott is the one chewing his favorite ball. I don't know if covering a crate does any good or bad but it makes me think they're warmer and cozier...must be a "mommy" thing. Last night they decided to switch beds....Elliott jumped up on the top crate and Maddy dove into the bottom one. I also found they go into their setup during the day just to hang out. I'm now thinking of asking hubby to build some kind of heavy duty shelving unit for the crates...maybe with some stairs. I could get totally carried away with the design. Brody'sMom
I bet they like being tucked away in that alcove, it probably feels like a den. During our re-model, we have Brody and Mia tucked under a table and Mia really likes it. I think she will like the table crate we are getting. toomanypaws
That's a great set up, Kayharley! I know Kiara and Abbey would love it. Now if I can just drag Hannah out of our bed. I've never seen a little dog curl up so tightly as Hannah does when she's under our covers. <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/maiwag/terriersiggy.jpg" border="0" class="linked-sig-image" /> Beth, mom to Ninja (5), Hannah (7), Abbey (7 1/2), Kiara (10)
