Eliz222
I can, finally, take the dogs for a walk now...yipee! I got out Finch's harness and can't, for the life of me, figure out how it goes on! I took them out with regular leashes and we just made it down the street....Finch just pulls too much without the harness. Help! Will somebody please walk me through putting this on her? Thanks!!!!! AllAboutPetey
This is what I do: Loosen the toggle all the way. Hold the collar part in 2 hands with the clip ends farthest away from your body and the under the leg straps hanging down. Facing your dog, drop the collar over her head. Now pick up her legs one at a time and put them through the fleecy covered things. Snap the clips closed and tighten the toggle. Attach the leash and you are good to go. Edited to add that I am really, really glad to hear you are feeling up to walking your girls again. Best wishes!
hallswel
You will love the harness and it will get easier to put on my just stand and let me do it now. The directions above are great! mrskti
The way I use to do it is to lay the thing down on the floor all spread out, step them into the loops and pull the whole thing up, snap it and we're good to go!!! Glad to see you out walking again...way ta go!!!! Terry, mom of Dori and Ellie Mae
Scully'sMom
Good for you Shoe!!!! I'm happy to hear you're up to being out and about. I've printed the directions out for myself as well. I have so much trouble with the Sporn. I'm determined to get it though!
savannahsmom35
No instructions for the Sporn, just wanted to say how happy I am that you are feeling better! We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made. -M. OzGirl
My curiousity got the the better of me - had no idea what a sporn harness was so I googled it and found instructions (with pictures) - http://www.mightypets.com/product.asp?3=901 They look good I've been thinking a harness might be better for Roxy cos she pulls during walks too. Milopup
A little OT (sorry) but is there a huge difference between the Sporn harness and the typical nylon harness from Petco/Petsmart? We have been using the typical nylon harness, after the fiasco with the figure-eight harness, and we are wondering if that is okay. Or should we spring for the Sporn harness? Scully'sMom
OzGirl...thanks so much for that link. I'm "instructionally challenged". I do better with seeing the instructions.

Eliz222
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!! I love all of you!!!! It took some time, but I figured it out. Finch loves the harness, and like before, doesn't seem to care that it is on her at all. I will really enjoy our walk tonight....thanks!

Eliz222
Thanks everyone! Except for the terrible wind we had last night, our walk was wonderful! We just walked up and down the street for about 20 minutes but Scout and Finch were in heaven! We have several parks close by that I can take them to and I can't wait to do that. I might even buy another harness for Scout! She doesn't pull like Finch, but Finch walks like a dream dog for me now...the leash even "droops" between us as we walk. Milopup
Shoe, do you recommend the Sporn over other harnesses? I have been wondering if I should switch from the regular nylon harness to a sporn.
maggie
I'm so happy to hear you are out walking! I know you were always concerned about them not getting enough exercise. You must be really excited! Praying all continues to go well for you. Maggie and Kai-lee
Eliz222
Milopup, I really love this harness. It's comfortable for the dog and it stopped Finch from pulling RIGHT AWAY. She also loves to wear it and didn't even blink once when I put it on her, which speaks alot for the product. I would give it a try! We walked for an hour in the park today.......nice!
