toomanypaws
Hi everyone! Sorry I'm coming in late here about Christmas and some of the gifts we received. My 9 yr old daughter (dd) was playing around w/ our Lab who was up on our bed, which is pretty high off the floor. She somehow started to fall and pulled him down w/ her and fractured her shoulder. She's fine, but is my reason for not posting pictures lately. I did want to share first the necklace my husband (dh) got me and I am wearing right now. These are two previous ornaments from my dd. This is the one she got me this year. Wanted to show you my special gifts before showing you this one. Although I do love material gifts, guess it's the human nature in most of us. After I took this one of my youngest Cairn, Hannah, I realized that I could lose all of my material possessions tomorrow and have nothing, but as long as I had what really matters, which is my dh, dd and our furbabies, I'd have everything. This picture of Hannah made me realize that some of my greatest gifts, I already have. savannahsmom35
So sorry to heat about your DD. Hope she is feeling better soon! I agree with you, as long as I have my family and my furbaby, life is good! We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made. -M. Acklam Savannah's Dogster Page
kayharley
Please give your daughter a big hug from all of us here (well, maybe a small hug considering her injury, poor thing) Hope she's feeling better. You are so correct on our best gifts being our Cairns. Christmas morning was so fun here watching the dogs decide what toy to play with. I can never express my love for them in words..it's just too intense. I got a new digital camera that should take some awesome pics....when I figure out how to use it. A belated Merry Christmas to you and your family and let's hope the new year brings only good things to all of us on this wonderful, loving forum. Scully'sMom
Beth, I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. It's always something isn't it - whether it's a furbaby or your human baby. I'd have to say that picture DOES sum it all up. The love of our families and these Cairns is precious beyond words. And beautiful gifts BTW!!!! Eliz222
Beth, I hope your DD is feeling better now. Having had 3 shoulder surgeries, I know how painful shoulder pain can be!!! You are right about what we all want most for the Holidays...our loved ones and our furbabies!!! And for everyone to be safe and happy. My sister gave me some stuffed animals that look just like Cairns....I need to take a picture of them soon.
toomanypaws
My sister gave me some stuffed animals that look just like Cairns....I need to take a picture of them soon. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I too have some adorable stuffed Cairns. It got me thinking, maybe we should start a thread showing off some of our Cairn collectables. Beth, mom to Ninja (5), Hannah (7), Abbey (7 1/2), Kiara (10)
maggie
I'm so sorry about your daughter's injury, and hope she is feeling much better soon. I love Hannah's picture and I have to agree family and furbabies are the best present of all, I know I consider Kai-lee to be a real blessing in my life! Happy New Year to you and your family. toomanypaws
Thanks to all of your kind thoughts about my dd's injury. I wish she had been playing w/ one of the Cairns and had them fall on her instead of our Lab. The Lab's 90 lbs is the reason for the fracture. She is doing fine and will go back to the doctor next week. Beth, mom to Ninja (5), Hannah (7), Abbey (7 1/2), Kiara (10)
