TheScotts Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Back on topic, e-Bay decided against selling cats and dogs online. Edit: some off-topic content
Guest girliejr Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 To the point of the topic, I'm for one thrilled that eBay is not selling live dogs and cats! Edit: some off-topic content
Anna_525 Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 I like this forum mainly because I felt so welcome from the start. Once in a while I felt offended by some posts (a long time ago) and it was also Brad who said (sort of, not exact words) that remarks can be offensive or not offensive depending on the mood you are in at the time you're reading the post. I felt more in control of my reactions after reading that. With emails and forums, it's very easy to miscalculate one's intentions and tone, and there's really nothing like a real conversation. I think I'm losing track of what I want to say..... I guess what I'm saying is while everyone is free to say anything on the board, keeping your 'tone' in check is highly appreciated. We also don't want people leaving the forum because of misunderstandings.
bradl Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 I'm going to close this topic as the situation with ebay has resolved. I may also weed out the off-topic comments - no offense intended to anyone who's comment is edited or deleted. No whitewashing is intended either: meta-discussions about how the forum is run should be started in Forum Support. I'll use my admin 'power of last post' to reinforce a point that Anna 525 made. It's not a well-rounded discussion if folks can't express points of view that we, personally, may find abhorrent, or in ways that we, personally, find rude. It is as much OUR duty to not be easily offended as as it is also our duty to at least make the attempt not to offend others. Also, I will continue to do my best to enforce forum guidelines, for better or worse. CAIRNTALK: Questions?
