hallswel
I witnessed true teamwork yesterday and the cardinal lost. Rebel has always been interested in the birds but until recently Sugar could care less, but now she is also becoming a huntress. Our yard is usually covered with cardinals and one got a little too brave, it landed and both Sugar and Rebel got in the stalking position and waited. All of the sudden Sugar charged it and sent it flying toward Rebel who with on quick snatch caught it and the shook it. Then he walked to Sugar and gave her the poor dead thing. I ran to get it away from her but she was very proud of her bird, so in the house I went to get something to trade. She really did not want to give up her bird and tried to gulp it down but I think I was able to get most of the bird out of her mouth. I called the vet and they said if she is eating, drinking and having BM Liz Rebel, Hammurabi, Sugar, Dirty Harry, Paint, Duncan and Saffron
savannahsmom35
I am sure that Sugar and Rebel were very proud of themselves! It is amazing what they think up! We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made. -M. Teri9672
I see Sugar has a darkside....... Teona has already caught and killed 2 baby doves. They really do try to quickly swallow them once they notice you want it.........

toomanypaws
Frogs don't stand a chance in our yard. Kiara was always the main hunter here, but she has taught Hannah well. It also amazes me how those two work together. I swear one would think they are mother/daughter! Abbey is just content w/ her squeaky toy. Hallswell, this is one time I'm glad you didn't post a picture. <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/maiwag/terriersiggy.jpg" border="0" class="linked-sig-image" /> Beth, mom to Ninja (5), Hannah (7), Abbey (7 1/2), Kiara (10)

Darcy's Folks
WOW!!! What a great (but of course sad) story. Obviously those 2 are bonded for life! I find it sweet (but of course again sad) that Rebel gave the bird to Sugar. I hope one day we'll be able to get a buddy for Darcy. For now, she's got "only child" syndrome!
