Trying to Post a photo

Like most of you, I really enjoy seeing the pics you post, so I'm trying to do the same. I followed the instructions on the "test" page,. It seemed to wok, so here's my 11 year old...

Ohmygosh! I didn't even think my attempt to post a photo worked, but it did!

Sorry the pic turned out so large. Can anyone advise me how to do this, but with a smaller photo? I have suitcases full of pics I'd like to post! (Just kidding, Ha-ha).
