We woke up to a wonderful surprise....about 3" of beautiful fluffy snow! The crew are having a field day playing in it. May just keep them out of the kitchen while I cook.

I hope everyone has a relaxing Thanksgiving surrounded by loved ones.

I'd also like to mention this....Please be careful about feeding your Cairns any turkey skin or other high fat tidbits. It can cause problems with their pancreas.

My vet has told me that he sees a much higher incidence of pancratitis after holidays when pet owners can't resist the pleading eyes of their "starving" dogs. Don't do it....a carrot or other healthy treat will make them just as happy.

I am very grateful this day - and every day - for the friendship of those I have "met" in this group. I thank you for your kindness, advice, and for sharing your beautiful babies!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families!

I can't say it better than Brad did, so true!.

My parents came in yesterday for 5 days and Kiara, Abbey, and Hannah have been great. It sure makes a difference when you have familiy visiting who love animals. My parents can't resist the Cairns mechanical ears going up and down for attention. Aside from using the babygates to keep them from underfoot, they have actually been quite quiet. I was up early to make the dressing and get the turkey in the oven. Once that was done, I made sausage and scrambled eggs for my parents, dh, and dd. I made sure to make extra eggs for the Cairns, and my other two dogs. :P They also got a sample of turkey, but I made sure it was very lean. I gave into some eggnog myself, so it looks like we all splurged.

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

morning all................. are you ready to shop

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. For us it was happy and a little sad. This year it was just Me, Hubby and Hubby's Mom. Last year on Christmas Eve we lost my husband's Father. This was our first Thanksgiving without him and it was hard. My hubby is now in charge of carving the Turkey, his Dad always did this chore. :( All I can say is hug your loved ones a few extra times and make sure to tell them how much you love them while they are here.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving everyone. I hope everyone had a great time. I cooked for 10 and we all ate WAY too much. Brody and Mia got some white meat turkey and had a blast playing with DH's great niece and nephew.

Bear and I send our day after Happy Thanksgiving wishes to everyone! Thursday was so busy with family coming and all the preparations. I was so pleased with how well Bear handled all the excitement. He was such a good boy. Of course, it helped a lot that my nephew and his wife are dog lovers. She especially enjoyed Bear. He sure was worn out though. He slept very well last night, woke up for breakfast, and then slept a good part of the morning. As I never give my dogs table food, Bear had to be content with his Canidae. I found some fancy turkey and sweet potato dog biscuits for him, but they didn't agree with him. Oh, well. Hope everyone has had a terrific Thanksgiving.

MAKE it a GREAT day!!! :D

Hi Everyone! Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

We had a very nice day. On Wednesday we drove

about 5 hours to Syracuse, NY and both dogs did GREAT!

Grilly has always been super in the car, but this was Madison's

first roadtrip. I think she got the idea from Grilly and she did

not make a peep in her crate! :D

Madison met her fur cousin Newton, a year-old Yorkie, and

they did pretty well. We woke up on Thursday to about 6 inches

of snow.....Madison really liked it. I kept thinking that I had to get a

picture, but it was so darn cold and still snowing that I couldn't

do it  My in-laws love dogs so they were thrilled. Madison did really

great, I was very impressed. She even did her buisness in the snow!

Again, Happy Thanksgiving to all. I too am grateful for this forum and

all the wonderul people and fuur babies!

I hope that everyone had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving! Savannah's first Thanksgiving was really fun. She came with us to my Mom's house and there was about 10 people there so Savannah was right in the middle of it all!! Then me, my mom and DH went out of town shopping for 2 days while Savannah stayed with her grandpa (my dad). When I got home she was so dirty, the first thing she did was get in the tub for a water bath! I am sure that she had a bunch of extra treats while I was away so it made up for her not getting any Thanksgiving turkey!

I too am very thankful for all of the friends that I have made on this forum! What a great bunch of people there are here! Thanks to everyone for your advise, photos and stories! Some days, you guys are just what I need to cheer me up and keep me going!

We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made.
