Time for the Holidays

Hi Everyone,

I know... Halloween hasn't even ended yet and the Christmas decorations and such are already out in the stores. Which got me thinking the other day... I need to find Darcy (the newest addition to our family) her very own Christmas stocking. Where have all of you found your stockings for your dogs?

me too, this will be Teona's first Christmas. I also need to get her an ornament.

Last Christmas we rented a log cabin and brought Kiara, Abbey and Hannah along. My dd wanted to design stockings for each of them. I bought 3 plain stockings and some glitter paint at Wal-Mart and dd decorated them once we got to the cabin.

Here she tried to pose them under their stockings.

I'm not sure what we'll do this year. We may buy them new stockings.

Scully must have three stockings. One is just like what your little girl made; one was a gift and it was appliqued with dog bones, and now I forget what the other one is but it's also for a dog. I've seen them all over here in Philly.

This is my Christmas picture of Brody last year. I made the paw stocking in the background.

Edited to add: I made it out of wool felt (wool blend really) which you can get a Jo-Ann.

Brody's Mom: I LOVE your stocking and that is exactly the kind of stocking I was thinking about in my head! I love how the center of the paw is a heart. Thanks for the idea (and the great photo). I guess it is time to start getting Darcy's stocking made. Although I don't sew, maybe my mother-in-law will do it for me on her sewing machine if I cut everything the way I want it. And hopefully she won't think I'm too crazy. LOL

My stocking was really easy. Since it is made of felt there are no raw edges to finish.

Just saw this on ebay. Is this cute or what? That's the only trouble sometimes having multi Cairns. I have to buy 3 of everything. Too bad there aren't two dark colored Cairn stockings up for bid. One of you Cairn owners of a Wheaten might want to bid on this.
