kayharley Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 I should have known from prior experience that when he's quiet, he's doing something bad. I'm in the process of moving my 18 year old son downstairs so he can have his own mini-apartment. So that means I am the one who gets to clean out his closet that has 17 years of junk accumulated in it. Of course Elliott is right by my side and I'm constantly telling him "OUT, NO, LEAVE IT" but after a few minutes I notice he's left the fun. I follow the trail of torn papers, broken CD holders, parts of plastic CD sleeves to find him in his crate chewing on a Men in Black DVD. God, those things are like razors and again (anyone remember the post about him getting ahold of my disposable razor?) I have to put all the pieces together to make sure he didn't swallow any. I tell ya.....I'm going to have to get my roots touched up weekly. And just when I think he's outgrowing naughtiness
toomanypaws Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 That's funny, Kayharley. Let's hope Elliot just chewed the CD to pieces and didn't swallow any. I still have to watch Abbey for chewing things that aren't hers. Yesterday I came in w/ a pile of stuff and dropped a pad of those "Post-its", the ones w/ sticky stuff on one side. I should have noticed Abbey wasn't being her vocal self for attention. I'm sure she immediately claimed the post-it pad. She had managed to rip little post-its off, a few at a time, and had them all over the kitchen. When I caught her, Hannah was starting to join in the fun. <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/maiwag/terriersiggy.jpg" border="0" class="linked-sig-image" /> Beth, mom to Ninja (5), Hannah (7), Abbey (7 1/2), Kiara (10)
Guest Guest Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 A day without a Helliott story is like a day without sunshine! I love that little guy - but I'm sorry for your gray hair.
Tracy A. Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 I should have known from prior experience that when he's quiet, he's doing something bad. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Kay- Have you ever thought about putting a bell on Helliot- I mean Elliot? We put Jingle bells on the boys recently and it's help greatly in tacking/monitoring. Of course Elliot might just get even if you did it, visions of shreded couch/easy chair dancing in my head as I suggest it......... Darcy's Folks Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 I KNOW your pain! Darcy got a hold of a rented DVD case from Blockbuster. I was downstairs, Daddy upstairs and Darcy was in the loft by herself... rather quiet. Then, all of a sudden "THUD.... (quiet)... THUD... (quiet).... THUD". Both me and hubby ran to where we hear the noise coming from. And found the destroyed Blockbuster case. Fortunately, she had not reached the DVD inside of the case. Hubby just returned it this evening and the clerk was okay with it since she didn't tear up the DVD. He was half tempted to take her with him to show the clerk that this sweet looking little dog did this damage. He decided against it. Great story about Elliott though! I understand the needing to touch up the roots weekly statement. I'm certain Darcy has made my hair turn even more white over the last 6 months of having her... and I'm only 29... very depressing! She's worth it though! Kate, Darcy & Bailey's mom
Guest girliejr Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 Bring on the Helliot stories!! I love hearing these "Tails".... . I feel your pain, Jack has brought me a grey hair or two!
savannahsmom35 Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 I can see Elliot now, "But Mom, I was trying to help!". I love him so much! We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made. -M. Acklam Savannah's Dogster Page
hallswel Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Kay Now he was just trying to tell you your son makes you work to hard! If he had cleaned the closet none of this would have happened. I do love your stories, give Elliott a kiss from me he earned it made me smile Liz Rebel, Hammurabi, Sugar, Dirty Harry, Paint, Duncan and Saffron
MikeC Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 From first hand experience I know that when my two are quiet some major calamity is being perpetrated! Yesterday afternoon was one of those times. "Duffy and Mickey are quiet. I better go see what's going on". Enter the guest bedroom and find them both under the bed completely demolishing the underfabric of the box spring. Fortunately none had been eaten (as far as I could tell). My two will NEVER have run of the house. Mike
bradl Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Heh. Our boxspring has been converted into a cave also. CAIRNTALK: Questions? Need help? → Support Forum Please do not use PMs for tech support CRCTC: Columbia River Cairn Terrier Club | 2025 Calendar
MikeC Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 You too, Brad! I'm glad we are not the only ones. Last night when I went to bed, I noticed that the clock on my side of the bed was out and the lamp did not light. Upon further inspection behind the bed it was noted that the extension cord with both the clock and lamp connected to it had been unplugged. The plug was not chewed, just unplugged. One of my two is becoming a practical joker! Mike
Scully'sMom Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 LOL! Mike I think it was a test to see how good Dad's humor was on a Monday morning with no alarm clock set!
