Mama Kim
I used to take our first cairn to the groomer once every 6-8 weeks. But they did not give her a cairn cut, she looked more like a Westie. They always told me they did not do handstripping. My question is, does your cairn have the traditional scruffy cairn cut or more of a Westie/Scottie type cut? And do you groom your cairn yourself or send them to a groomer? I really want our new puppy to have a cairn cut but most places around here do not hand strip or it is incredibly expensive. What are my options? Is it something I can do myself? And how often do they need to be groomed? Thank you! Autumn
Here is a very helpful web site I found on the internet on how to groom a Cairn Terrier: www.petgroomer.com/Grooming101/Breeds/cairn_terrier.htm. Autumn
bradl
The grooming booklet Start to Finish from the CTCA is still my favorite reference. Every Cairn owner should have one. I also like the article on this site. CAIRNTALK: Questions?
