Posey
Tuesday we leave on vacation with Nicky. At home Nick has a wire metal crate. We purchased a plastic travel crate with a handle on top. Knowing that Nick has teeth like an alligator, is there a way that we can keep him from chewing it up. Please advise. Posey
Guest
Hi Posey, We have a plastic crate but it has a heavy-wired metal door. Every chance he gets, Wesley chews the outside surrounding plastic. The rims are still okay, even with the toothmarks. And the plastic tabs that anchor the top and bottom of the crate are still functional. Wesley's original crate was all plastic. And the locks which closed the crate were like enticing plastic flags- comparable to the red capes at a bullfight- very inviting and chewable. That's why we switched. Guest
I just looked at our plastic crate, still in the bedroom. The plastic "flags" are on the outside, so I guess thre wouldn't be a problem. When we first got Wesley I figured he'd be more independent and expected him to enter and leave the crate on his own to potty. Was I ever wrong! So Posey, I don't think you have anything to worry about using the plastic crate you bought. Ellen
