Hello, are Cairns easy to train to run and play alot? I'm usually outside, and i would like it if i could get my dog to chase a ball/run with me etc. Do they usually take to these tasks easily??

~Thanks

PS, whats a good treat for Cairns?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

both my girls live for the TENNIS BALL. They are up for fetch 24/7

Anything that can fit into their mouths is a good treat for a cairn.............LOL

I've been giving my girls lowfat cinnamon graham crackers. They love them :)

Hi Princeton, There was no training involved to teach my three cairns to play. I do believe cairns were born to play. I call my three little ever ready bunnies when I see them napping because I know they're recharging and will be ready to go full force. All three of mine will play fetch, but my oldest is quite obnoxious about it. She is pretty much obsessed w/ fetch. Her favorite plastic dumbbell is falling apart, yet she refuses to part w/ it. I've been searching all the stores for a replacement as it's split in half, yet she still wants you to throw it.

For treats, mine love the Bil-Jac treats and baby carrots. Ice chips are also a big hit for mine.
