Just what this house needs!

Well, there are those that have tons of kids and always seem to want a newborn in their house. I'm one who loves tons of pets and love nurturing my furry kids. While I'd love another cairn, 3 is enough for me for now. Hannah is my baby velcro and I can't imagine how she'd react to another puppy being she will forever think she's my baby.

After stopping at the animal shelter to "pray for the animals", as my daughter (dd) put it, this one little kitten was frantically waving her paws at us. It was as tho she was trying to say, "pick me, pick me!". We left that day and all I could see in my mind that night was this kitten's paws waving at us. So  the next day, I told dd she could have the kitten and we went back and rescued her.

I let the cairn girls smell my hands before showing them the kitten, who my dd named Granger. I'd say "smell the baby", and they knew we had a new family member. Here's a picture of Kiara, Abbey, and Hannah meeting Granger who is all of 2 lbs.:

I know this is a cairn board, but just wanted to show you Granger's cute face. She's cute for a cat, but still not as cute as a cairn. :P

I'm so proud of the cairns w/ her. Now if my other cat, Tai would come around and introduce himself instead of hiding. We hope they'll get along so that Tai will have someone to play w/ instead of always teasing the cairns. Tai will wait until the cairns have settled down at night and then he stand lurking at the end of the hall daring them to chase him. Hopefully he'll leave the cairns alone now.

It's raining here so Hannah and I are going to take a nap. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hi to Granger - you've come to a TERRIFIC home!

I love Granger's coloring - she looks like a blend of "the girls" coloring. She is absolutely adorable!

Ya know, I'm really a "dog person". Granger may be cute, but at least the cairns don't jump and and come running across my desk causing papers to fly. I told my dh it was a bad idea to leave his briefcase open in his office.

I'm letting my dh and dd tend to the kitten and taking the cairns out in the backyard for a good run. I love the interaction I have w/ my cairn girls. I really, really love my cairns.:wub::wub:

Now that would be a good Christmas card....that picture on the front w/the caption 'And unto us a cat was born.....'

Just a thought,

pat.

Children don't care how much you know...they want to know how much you care.

I love your "Cairn Investigation Squad" picture; so cute!

I'm not a cat person either, but I have to admit that Granger is pretty cute herself. Her markings are very unique. Hope the whole crew gets along well!

Aww..they look so sweet and innocent looking at her. :halo:

I wonder what they are thinking? :ermm:

What a soft heart you have.

The world needs more people like you...I think we'll get one with your daughter! :halo:

Awww, Granger looks almost like my little calico Rags, who I lost to cancer last November! Rags had green eyes, though.

Now you'll be able to share my experience of owning both a calico cat and a brindle cairn -- hairs of all colors are going to show up on your nice black slacks!

Sometimes I think it would have been easier just to get a black poodle....

Yes, and wouldn't you know, I prefer dark solid colors. Actually, my cairns aren't too bad. They really don't shed much since I started using the Mars King Coat on them. My youngest, Hannah does has some cream on her sides which always seems to stick to my shirt. I also have a yellow lab, who gets brushed daily AND another cat who has light fur. I've taught this cat to stay out of the formal rooms (living/reading/dining) and am hoping to teach the kitten this. I keep those pet hair rolls for clothes in every bathroom closet and hallway closets. Yes, it's a little extra work, but worth it. Poodles are cute, but I'll stick w/ cairns. :)

I am amazed that the kitten just lays there and let's the girls "check her out"! That is great! I'm sure all your "kids" will get along great (eventually! ). Keep us informed of the progress of the "siblings"!
