Tuff&Tippy
I know this might sound silly, but I'm not sure if Tippy is black, I would have said yes just 2-3 weeks ago, but now that her baby fuzz is starting to get replaced with her adult hair I'm not so sure. I would appreciate if you could look at the pictures I took of her today and offer your opinion. I just got her papers so I can register her, and want to mark them correctly I'm thinking she is brindle with black markings I see alot of different color on her inner hair, she even has a grey band on her tail and around her eyes. sorry if the pic's are to big I forgot to resize them first Tuff & Tippy
Teri9672
Tippy looks so much like my little Teona. I'm not sure what color to call her, I'm having the same problem with little T. I so much wanted a dark Cairn, but she's changing sooo fast. I just took pics of her coat on Sunday. Here's my little T checking out the pond here's a closeup of her hair color here's a puppy pic to compare
Brody'sMom
Wow Teona really did change colors. I'd call Tippy a black brindle, though it is definitely an inexact science! Brody was registered as a red brindle (appropriate at the time), but he and Mia are now the exact same color and Mia is registered as a cream brindle (appropriate at this time). Kramersmom
Oh, Tippy looks just like my Missy did when she was a baby. Missy, was black brindle when we bought her at 3 months, she never changed colored at all. Now, my puppy kramer he was darker but getting lighter but his muzzle and ears are pitch black the multi color makes him so darling but my heart sinks whenever I see a dark brindle. Missy was such a beautiful black solid black all 17 years. Here is a picture of my Angel Missy when she was about 3 Rhonda,Kramer & Angel Missy "Blessed is the person who has earned the love of an old dog". "It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are" Missy Rainbow Bridge Memorial/>http://www.indulgedfurries.com/petdiabetes/memorium/missy2.htm
wheezie23
I would say Tippy and Teona are both red brindles. That's what Scruffy is registered as. toomanypaws
I would just register Tippy as being brindle. My oldest, Kiara is considered a red brindle and my youngest, Hannah is considered a cream brindle even tho they're color looks alot alike. Kiara started out black w/ red highlights and Hannah started out black. Kiara lightened for a while on her sides but has now gone darker w/ alot of red coming out. Hannah is keeping her black face but getting light cream color on her sides. I'm hoping Hannah gets darker again like Kiara did. Just saying brindle covers it, especially the way these dogs magically change in color. <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/maiwag/terriersiggy.jpg" border="0" class="linked-sig-image" /> Beth, mom to Ninja (5), Hannah (7), Abbey (7 1/2), Kiara (10)

Eliz222
I would call Tippy a Brindle, or a grey Brindle. Scout looks just like this! Mostly black..turned into alot of grey....and now red highlights. Here is Scout. She is mostly grey, but has alot of red highlights. *it was a windy day! Finch was registered at a Red Brindle, and I think she is going to stay a Red Brindle...at least for awhile. She has lots of red hair in her undercoat. She looks alot like Teona and Scruffy!
savannahsmom35
I think that Savannah is changing colors (AGAIN). This is Savannah as a brown colored puppy: And Savannah as a wheaten pup: Now the half of her coat closest to her body is a silver/grey color and the half farthest away from her body are a light wheaten color! I think she is trying to turn a silver color. We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made. -M. Acklam Savannah's Dogster Page
Tuff&Tippy
Thanks, All your babies are beautiful, I see allot of similarities in so many of them. I think I will follow Tomanypaws advice and just say Brindle, cause then it covers all the changes. I do see allot of red in there but there is allot of gray too in areas not shown. I was hoping she would just stay black like her baby picture, but however she comes out I love her she is a little character. Tuff & Tippy
