toomanypaws Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 I can't believe how fast this year has gone and that I no longer have a puppy! Hannah had a nice birthday and got some new toys, one that Abbey has already claimed. As smart as cairns are, you just can't reason w/ them when it comes to birthdays. The trouble w/ having 3 cairns is, if one gets something, they all get something. Even tho everyone got new toys, they were smart enough to do the math and notice Hannah got more. I also bought them some Dogster ice cream which was a big hit. Hannah got too tired for her birthday photo so this will have to do: Here's one more of Hannah wearing her new collar: The first photo was taken at night which makes her look black. The one of her w/ her collar was taken this morning in daylight. She now has quite a bit of cream highlights and a little red. She's still the smallest of the 3 and will always be called "the baby". Beth, mom to Ninja (5), Hannah (7), Abbey (7 1/2), Kiara (10)

Brigette Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 Happy Birthday Hannah! I had to show all the girls at work her pretty n pink picture!
toomanypaws Posted May 8, 2005 Author Posted May 8, 2005 Thanks everyone! I just looked at Hannah's picture w/ her new collar and realized just how scruffy she looks. You can tell she's never been to a groomer and I obviously don't know how to keep her face to have that "cairn look". The last (and final) time I took Kiara and Abbey to the groomer, Kiara came home looking like a mean schnauzer and Abbey just looked ugly. I've only used the Mars King Coat on Hannah but need help w/ her face. I prefer the more scruffy look but would like help in trimming the muzzle area and the area between the eyes. I don't think Hannah would tolerate electric clippers. What other options are there? Beth, mom to Ninja (5), Hannah (7), Abbey (7 1/2), Kiara (10)
kayharley Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 HAPPY BIRTHDAY from Winnie, Madison & Elliott. She looks so tiny in her collar pic....how much does she weigh? I wish mine were a bit smaller...makes it so much easier to carry around. Grooming is going to be an ongoing procedure here. Between Maddie and Elliott, I'm always going to be doing something to them. I bought these little rubber things that look like miniature balloons that I put on my finger and thumb and when Elliott is sitting on my lap, I just pull/pluck and whatever is loose comes off. I could not believe how much came off in just a few minutes. I sissor the fur on their ear tips and around their backside. So far I've only made a dent (not literally) in Elliott because he doesn't sit still too long but it's a start. Madison is far more scarse in the fur department so she can get quite scraggly before she looks like a "yak?" (isn't that Brad's description?) http://saymail.sympatico.ca/service/Retrie....2rgjqREHo4oBMW
