bradl
I'll bet your Cairn can tell the difference between opening any random drawer in your kitchen vs opening the drawer with their treats. I know ours sure can. I was looking at that drawer today and thinking, "I wonder if we've gone overboard?" kayharley
And I thought my crew was spoiled. I do have that "special" drawer where most of their goodies are stored but it's shared with some cookbooks, phonebooks and notepads. That means I can't cook, telephone or write without getting everyone in an uproar!! I've been getting the very small training treats by Zukes and they're wonderful. A few bags of those, Wellness biscuits, Canidae biscuits, bully sticks in freezer, moo tubes, huge rawhide bones, solid gold jerky, dried chicken strips, and liver kong snaps. bradl
Zukes are popular here. Surprised we must be out of them. The Wellness and Waggers biscuits are on the countertop - no room in the drawer The moo tubes have turned out to be a smashing success with our crew. They are satisfyingly 'loud' to eat. Scully'sMom
Phew, that is one huge snack drawer. Now I want to see Brad's snack drawer - Scully's treats are on the counter. She only likes soft treats so it's either Pupperoni or something like that. Obviously looking at brad's snack drawer I need to be offering her more varieties. Bad, bad, mommy. Kathryn
Wow! And Allie just gets one kind (charlie bears) and raw veggies. But she DOES hear us pulling out the refrigerator drawer dedicated to cheese from anywhere in the house!
Eliz222
I must be a bad mommy too! We have some dog cookies (small bites) in the drawer with their food. They have raw veggies in the fridge and bully sticks tucked in box in the closet (they need to stay in the box...they stink!). We have a basket by the back door which we keep their brushes, leashes, shampoo, and other "doggie stuff".
toomanypaws
Well, the treat drawer here is more like a junk drawer. It really needs cleaning out. Some of the things in there are an opened pack of Greenies, some compressed rawhide sticks, some sample treat packs, combs, brush, MKC, clippers, 1st aid kit, some antibiotics, panalog, banguard, syringes (that should be put back in 1st aid kit), bird toys, bird clippers, septic powder and I'm sure some stuff I'm forgetting. A drawer isn't enough around here. The pets also have the cabinet below the drawer full of cleaning supplies, unopened food and bedding for the other critters here and the Bil-Jac treats. There is also a treat cookie jar on the counter. The rest of the goodies/supplies are in the refridgerator and cabinet in the garage. <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/maiwag/terriersiggy.jpg" border="0" class="linked-sig-image" /> Beth, mom to Ninja (5), Hannah (7), Abbey (7 1/2), Kiara (10)
bradl
I toomanypaws. I didn't even go into the utility room cupboard, grooming roll-around, or first-aid kit! I know ... I'm just a sucker who buys everything I see even vaguely dog-related. Hey, they are my life, what can I say ... CAIRNTALK: Questions? Cairnmania
Hmmm. I thought I was bad, but now I look positively frugal when it comes to buying food treats for my two! Treats I give my dogs (brand names are U.K.) - Roast chicken necks (Scotties brand). Crunchy and apparently very tastey - Puppy Markies (packaged dog biscuits, they look like little stuffed long rolls). I buy the puppy ones because they are Cairn-sized. - Nature's Menu treats (very small, training type treats) - My home made dog treats (ingredients: rice flour, chicken spread, meat & veg baby food) - Whatever vegetables there are on my dinner menu (carrots, cucumber, anything except onions) - Small portion of whatever I made for dinner And then there are the "hundreds" of other treats I've bought and thought better of, sometimes throwing out large quantities of the stuff. Greenies, rawhide bones, the big "long-lasting chew" of something that I got as a free sample last week .. endless list. Stacey
