January 1 2024 in central Alberta should be cold and covered in snow….there is none. I am actually raking up leaves with Sam supervising to make sure I do a proper job. Although it’s nice we don’t have to worry about coats and boots for the dogs when walking them every day but I have an aweful feeling I will be replacing cedars and perennials 😝

Typical …at least for Alberta. Going down to -36c. Now that’s cold!🥶🥶

Yes winter is slow to arrive even in Idaho this year. Only this week has it felt like winter with single digits and measurable snow fall. Sam your little garden helper is adorable in the picture!!

Cold -- zero F and below hitting here this weekend too. No snow to speak of, so garden likely to suffer. Dogs are reluctant to go out -- sometimes it even gets too cold for my rough and ready boys...brrr.

I thought we were cold at -8 degrees! Atticus is having a hard time going outside and this morning he was limping. I'm going to try boots on him and see if that helps.
