So with a husky 11 months old, a Possessive a jealous 9 month old cairn, we are actually contemplating bringing an orange kitten into the household.  1 because we’ve always had an orange cat and 2 because of an increasing mouse problem both dogs just ignore 

Our previous husky and the cat were best pals. Dixie is an unknown quantity.  So cairn people advice and experience?   I know. What am I thinking?  I still have to pay for Dixie’s surgery (thus far seemingly completely successful)

It looks like you have created your own version of “The Peaceable Kingdom” at your house.

Our ginger cat ruled the house - every dog we had bowed down to him and RESPECTED that cat!!! There is something about ginger cats...
