bradl
"Clean up in Aisle 13!" Occasionally you will have a post that has some sort of construction error - perhaps a mangled link, grotesque formatting problem, or you may have some other technical problem that would benefit from administrator intervention. For example, you can edit a post as much as you like (during the edit window time period) but you are not able to completely delete posts or topics; these actions require an administrator. Please "Report" these posts. Look for the Report link at the top of the post alongside the poster name and time/date stamp. If you don't see that link, hover your mouse anywhere over the post and it will appear. Reporting a post will flag an administrator to look at the post and fix or delete it if necessary and/or possible. When you click the link you will have the option to add some additional description if needed to identify the problem. Other Bad Posts The report link can also be used to report violations of guidelines or other community issues. But please be advised that reports are just that: reports. Not only are they not replied to (a technical limitation) but after review they are the subject of judgement calls and judgements almost always leave at least one party feeling aggrieved; as often as not that may be the person or persons who reported it. As an alternative to reporting an objectionable post you can offer negative feedback on a particular post to administrators, the original poster, and everyone else who ever views the post by using a negative reaction (for example, Down Arrow). How-to and Other Questions Often a broken post is also the source of a corollary question. For example, you may have tried to do something but the result was not what you expected or hoped for. If you have a question about using the forum or one of its features the best way to get a response is to post your question as a Forum Support topic. 1 Quote CAIRNTALK: Questions?
