It's that day we all fear, one of our "Fur-Babies" is getting neutered.

As I've posted already we are a happy family with two Cairns and an Airedale, Terrier folks. Taggart and Duke are constant companions but today Duke is at the vets, Taggart seems near as nervous as I am looking for his, prior to this, ever present buddy.

Last week Duke got his first stripping, I'm afraid it allows Tag's needle like puppy teeth to find touchy spots more easily so on occasion Duke whines or yipes but never retaliates. Good friends, 5lb Cairn abusing 55lb Airedale.

My three sons, geeze I love these guys.

I hate this waiting for the phone call thing, never had a problem but I've known a few who have so I guess Tag and I will keep each other company till Dukes back.

I hate waiting for a phone to ring.     So much so that I showed up in the waiting room the day after my dog's eye surgery for an update,  only to be reprimanded and scolded by the surgeon.  "I told you I would call"    I was told the dog needed to stay another night ($) and I was not allowed even a brief visit.        Customer service is not what it used to be  :-(

The aftercare continues ($) (6 months later)   I can tell you I will never use this clinic again for specialty services.

A good vet calls you back as soon as he has an update and shows some empathy for what the pet owner is going through.  My regular vet is like that  :-).

The expression on the face of your Airedale, Duke, is precious. My favorite breed, after cairns!

Duke reminds me of a version of that old joke:

An Airedale walks into a bar... The bartender looks at him and says, “Why the long face”?

Also, based on my experience with similar matters.    It can take anywhere from 10 days to 2 weeks to get results back on a specimen sent out for analysis.

Oops!    I think this applies more to bradl (waiting for results) than montdoug

Duke's home and all is well; except for the cursed lampshade around his neck. Going to be a pretty hectic 10 days. Tag is still bummed, can't get at his favorite chew toy Duke.

Wednesday now.  I thought I posted the above yesterday but on coming to the site this evening I discovered I'd attached it to a quote and was going to address the "Why the long face" joke which around here of course applies to horses and mules and forgot to post it. In looking at Dukes photo again I see that that ole joke could have an Airedale in it as easy as not 😁. I also notice that the angle I took the picture from make Duke look like he has Cairn Terrier length legs on him and that is truly not the case. At any rate  here it is belatedly, sorry. A day and a half have however given Duke time to "really" hate the lampshade, only 8 1/2 more days to go 😩.
