What a glorious addition to our summer watching Duke and Taggart.

Taggart is 16 weeks today and Duke the Airedale is 11 months-ish. They are inseparable. It is amazing watching how careful Duke is with his little buddy Tag, he seems to know the need to really take it easy with him. Duke is like a coiled spring, constantly running laps around the yard and hard as a rock. Tag tries  to keep up but to no avail, still he keeps trying though. He has become a ball of muscle for his age as well and he's all heart and attitude.

Duke quickly realized that if he's going to get the most out of playing with the little Tagster he's going to have to get down to his level. He lets Tag absolutely maul him and seems to love it, I know I sure love watching the two of em.

Duke will let little Tag crawl clear up on top of him and gnaw on his neck. The amazing relationship that animals develop with each other is really a gift to watch. As you can tell from the pics the lead to keep Duke under control is no longer used, no need he's as gentle as a bruiser Airedale pup could possibly be. Taggart is a tough little customer too, I've yet to hear him yelp during their roughhousing. I have however heard him growl and snarl a lot Duke just seems to go along with the act and acts submissive to the little fella if you can believe it. We are in love again with our young Fur Babies.

Hope you all are having great summers as well.

That’s very cute! They sure look like they’re having fun.....plus at the end of it all I’m sure they’re both exhausred and ready for a nap - and that’s a good thing.

Great pics! What a fabulous pair they are.

I noticed with Angus that he often growled sort of to himself in a way when he was very busy doing something active like digging in the yard or pulling something heavy- a rug on the floor for example - more or less anything that required hard physical work including playing. And I expect keeping up with Duke is hard work!!
