Today is not just Paul McCartney's birthday - it is also (more importantly) Gus's 9th.

I wish he could stay 9 forever - it seems like the perfect age for a Cairn. He has settled down somewhat (though still tried to launch himself out a car window the other day to kill a piece of newspaper blowing around a parking lot). He is playful, cuddly, and responsive. Truly "the best little pal in the world".

Here are a couple of photos from our birthday walk this morning in our favourite park - and a couple of birthday presents I found yesterday at a local market. Now he needs a new food dish for that mat!

Happy birthday, Gus!  Kirby agrees that 9 is a great age; he just turned 9 on Friday!  I remember there were several Cairn puppies around that time.

Maybe it's taken me 9 years to fine tune my expectations!
