Wonderful news about Phinney and Kirby and they look adorable!  This weather has been freakish, hasn't it?  I was working in the yard yesterday - in February!  What a treat!

Phinney is growing so fast. That is what puppies do lol. So glad Kirby has a brother to play with. Phinney will be keeping you busy for a while.

What a beautiful pup! I wonder if he will channel Packy and have the same infinity for water and fish?:D

I know, I can't wait to try him out in the lake, but I want to wait until it's a bit warmer so the cold water doesn't scare him off.  I will say that he LOVES the shower.  He'll walk right in if the door isn't completely closed when I'm showering.  He stands in the spray and turns his face up to it.  And he's always snorkeling in the water dish.

Such sweet and fun furry pals. They really enjoy the tractors. If you all do a tractor and cairns, could we include a 156 fire truck with Keira driving?

As Packy isn't around to teach Phinney the fine art of being a fisherman perhaps Phinney can watch this and learn some tips.

Oh, wow, that brings back memories of Packy fishing!  Kirby does know how to fish and has caught them, but his first love is chasing ducks off the beach.  We'll see if he teaches Phin to fish or duck hunt.  Maybe both???

I can't believe how big Phinney is getting; wow 14lbs at 6 months, he is so stinking cute.  I'm so happy that Kirby is doing well with his Addison's Disease and getting along and playing with his little brother.  Maisie is a little over 20lbs, I think, we'll know for sure when she goes back to the vets in May.  When we rescued her at 4 months, she was only 5lbs but had been sick with Kennel Cough.  I'd like to see her get down to 18lbs but I think she's just a big healthy girl..:)

By the way does anyone know what kind of fish Molly brought to shore? It is beautiful! Obviously so does Molly's owner as she is calling someone called Larry.:P

I was wondering what species of fish it was too, the color was very striking.  I felt bad for the fish, the way it was flopping around and trying to breath, I'm a big fish lover, use to have fresh water aquariums until our area was struck by a huge ice storm a few years back and most of our county was without power for 10 to 12 days......all my fish died and I was heartbroken...   Had a pair of South American Cichlids that had just had babies and a beautiful pair of Blue Rams that use to come to the glass and greet me whenever I walked in the room.  Boy talk about off-topic, sorry guys.

My guess would be some kind of sunfish, maybe a bluegill.  That's mostly what our dogs catch, although Packy was known to catch a few crappies in his time.

Glad your weather is moderating--we are trapped in the winter from hell here--it keeps snowing, day after day--had a melt off the beginning of last week and then another blizzard!  I think the girls are tired of making little paths in the yard that leave the rest of their territory snow covered.  That seems to frustrate them and now the deer, hungry as always, have become either curious or assertive (not sure which) and girls get trapped out on the deck--hard to see two otherwise "brave" Cairns huddled against the slider door with four or five Mulies 20 feet away watching them!
Neat that you brought Phinney into the fold--nothing, in my opinion, lifts that dark blanket of grief from a surviving Cairn better than a new canine companion--we've seen that work three times now and it is really and eye opener.  Just watching the "adjustments" take place is fun--all that personality stuff that goes on with a new pup and an older survivor.  Bet Kirby is in 7th heaven.
