Wow, so sorry to hear that Addie had to go through this, I know personally how scary it is when watching your dog be attacked by another dog.  Glad that you both are okay.   Good that you reported this person and reserving the right to call the police if any other incidents occur.

I'm seriously hoping that 2017 brings a much calmer year for the two of you, both of you have had quite the trying year!

Whits - has the other dog owner responded to your concerns and indicated a willingness to handle her dogs differently?

Oh my! Poor baby, so scary.  I'm so glad that Addie is okay. My husband encountered an incident while walking our male pup two years ago. A pit bull mix ran out on the sidewalk and became aggressive with our dog. Thankfully, the owner immediately ran out to get the dog. My husband carries pepper spray and was ready to use it on the dog, if necessary to avoid getting hurt.
