Duffy's 1st Birthday

Recommended Posts

Today is my little guys 1st birthday. He had a special birthday breakfast of a small portion of white meat chicken mixed with some carrot and a little brown rice. Found a recipe on line for birthday cakes for dogs so Jim is going to make him one today and tonight we will have a little party and hopefully I can get him to keep his party hat on for a picture

Hi Sally,

Here is the recipe that we are using for Duffy's cake. It's sounds healthy enough for a pup and good enough for human consumption too!

1 cup whole wheat flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 cup peanut butter

1 cup shredded carrots

1 teaspoon vanila

1/3 cup honey (optional)

1 egg

Mix the dry ingredients. Add the remaining ingredients and mix quickly. Bake in a greased ring mold at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. If you want, you can frost with low fat cottage cheese and shredded carrot. Store in the fridge.

Duffy sends his thanks to all of you for your kind birthday wishes! He had a great time at his little party. He had a small helping of steak (no seasonings of course) and then the special cake which he scarfed on and then kept barking for more. Thanks again to all our Cairn family!
