hallswel
Did anyone read about the kids and setting dogs on fire. Hug your doggies today and the story is horrible http://www.shreveporttimes.com/apps/pbcs.d.../412030336/1002 I can't fathom why anyone would do this. wheezie23
Liz, I live in LA (Baton Rouge) and this was on the local news yesterday. I was horrified. They showed pictures of the 18 yr. old girl and she looks like she could be one of my daughter's friends -- not a monster. It's hard to understand what would posess kids to think this would be ok, let alone fun. My heart breaks for the dogs and their owners who have to live with the thoughts of how their beloved companions suffered and died. CarCarDawn
Hi! I just can't imagine why anyone would inflict such cruelty on a defenseless little animal - - -it just sickens me!! Just as with children - - these little guys are dependent upon us to care for them! I pray the people who did this are caught and swiftly brought to justice! MikeC
As far as I am concerned, people who commit these types of heinous acts on defenseless, innocent animals should lose their membership in the human race. I truly hope that these teenagers that committed this atrocity are punished accordingly but also put into some sort of treatment program to find out what in their pysche would cause them to do something this terrible. In remembering recent history, some of the US's worst serial killers got their start torturing animals. My heart goes out to the owners of those dogs as I know that they are suffering knowing what their poor pets must have gone through! MikeC
toomanypaws
I can't even click on the link to the story. Just reading that the dogs were set on fire is enough to upset me. I had to turn Animal Cops off last after some idiot left their dog tied and the wire had wrapped around him cutting deeply into his skin. It was so upsetting to me. I can't for the life of me understand what makes a person do such horrible things to an animal, but look at how some of these inocent children suffer at the hands of their murderer. It can really make you sick. <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/maiwag/terriersiggy.jpg" border="0" class="linked-sig-image" /> Beth, mom to Ninja (5), Hannah (7), Abbey (7 1/2), Kiara (10)
wheezie23
Toomanypaws, I had a difficult time watching that episode, too. But my kids watch it with me and they need to see that not everyone is kind to animals like we are. I would hope that the punishment for these teenagers involves a whole lot of community service (in addition to some jail time if applicable and mental health counseling) working in animal shelters. But then again, I don't know if I'd ever trust them around animals. Guest Guest
I have never been able to watch anything that had to do with cruelty to animals. I mean I can't even watch cowboy movies when the horses fall down - that's how much I can't stand it. Color me a wuss. It's all just unfathomable to me.
