Marcella Cobb

Cairns and especially Cairns in the Northwest lost a friend last week. The spirit of Marcella Cobb lives on in her dogs, and in the people she touched.

I'm not qualified to write about her history or accomplishments, so I'll only mention my personal experience. She was the first person we met in Cairns when we visited her Misty Meadows kennel to "meet the breed." Later we took obedience classes for years that were taught in her training room. We held eye clinics at her kennel. Our newly formed club had its first match (a Mix-n-Match) in her training room. We had our first-ever specialty meetings in that same room.

Marcella was a tall, independent, forthright person who loved, Loved, LOVED Cairns, and her close friends here made sure that she was visited by them as she wound down her years among them, and us. Rest in peace, Marcella Cobb.

It's wonderful when a breed has a special person outstanding in their devotion. Clearly Marcella Cobb  was one of these.A great supporter of the breed and pictured with a beautiful cairn!

Thanks for sharing Brad. How lucky for you to have hadher to encourage you when first getting to know cairns.

Rest in peace, Ms. Cobb. I'm sure she's been reunited with all her four-legged friends who went on before her.
