Any other cairns like to hunt bees?

Ever since fonzy got bitten by a bee when he was a puppy, I think he goes after them all the time now!

There is this HUGE Bush that has around 10-20 bee's on it, and everytime he goes by it, he barks and bites the bee's off the bush and kills them 1 by 1. (Grabs the bee and shakes them back and forth) (The Death Grip) is what I call it :)

Fonzy is not the only cairn that goes after these little insects I hope?

It's so cute because when all the bees are dead, he barks and just stares at me. Waiting for me to pick them to to go in the garbage, or do something. (Exactly how they were bred) So their farmers can get the animals out of the cairns. Ha, it's so cool.

Oh yes. Jock is a bee hunter specialist! I have a fit because the thought of a sting in his mouth and if he has a reaction, making his mouth or throat swell, would be a medical emergency. But after 11 1/2 yrs of biting bees and wasps in half, he must be either very talented at this sport or isn't allergic :)

We have a small backyard apiary, and Murphy does his best to avoid it all costs. He stepped on a bee one day, and it was bring on the DIVA-mode! I know it hurt him, but he was fine after a Benadryl and nap, but then, poured it on thick when I returned home from work.

So, we stay away from bees.

Lizards and chameleons on the other hand, it's game on!!!

Packy really likes to snap at them at my Mom & Dad's farm, where Dad keeps bees. Dad yells at him for snapping, telling him not to kill the honeymakers.

I haven't seen any interest in bees. But all of my three hates any insect that buzzes by their ears.

That's enough to put Teddy on the hunt to try to kill it....running around, barking and snapping!

Attila likes to go after anything that flys near him or anything he sees flying, including bees, moths, etc.. Carpenter bees are common here and they are about half an inch in diameter and about an inch and a half long (ie HUGE) and he tries to get them. One if these days he's going to get one and get stung and never do it again...

We also have giant cicada killers and another type if wasp in our back yard, both of which burrow in the ground - my back yard looks like an alien planet for about a month and a half each summer. I havnt seen him go after them yet. Cicada killers have to be one of the largest wasps, two inches or more in lenght!

Everyday on our walk we pass blossoming oregano covered in bees. Max pokes his head into it, then snaps at the bees he stirs up. He's never caught one or been stung yet but not for lack of trying on the bees or his part. Silly rascal.

I wish Jock would forget the bees and get to work on the slugs! Doesn't he know that in some countries they are a delicacy .

ROFL... Attila has slurped down a earth worm....

That would almost be as bad as eating a slug!

Slugs are not a good idea as they carry lungworm.

Ok this is just down right creepy! I just googled and read about slugs and lungworm! In Alberta we have had a lot of rain and the slug population has been a problem. I read that humans can even be infected from the slime on raw vegetables! Pouring salt on those critters is going to even be more pleasurable now than ever!

Not that Jock eats slugs but I am going to contact my vet for sure and ask her about lungworm.
