I have enjoyed reading about and seeing pictures of other Cairns who are pure-breed. I adopted a Cairn puppy for the first time 3 years ago. Before that I grew up with a black lab, Statfordshire Terrier, Collie/German Shepard mix, and have owned a Beagle/Terrier mix, and currently own an Airdale/black Lab mix. So although I have had terriers before and love them for their playfulness, this is my first Cairn.

Since she was a rescue pup, she is not pure-bred. I read up on Cairns, and was fully prepared to start stipping her coat when the time came. But as it turns out, she is part Yorkie, and has the hypo-allergenic Yorkie coat, which needs trimming instead of stripping.

She is however a true cutie. Her outer coat, I have been told is Brindle, but her undercoat is Irish Setter Red, so she changes color in late Spring when she gets her Summer Buzz.

Here are some pictures from over the years.

Welcome to the boards! Koda really is a cutie. Love her coloring -- reminds me of my Zekey (also a mix). And who could resist the one ear up/one ear down??
