wheezie23
Tucker just cracks me up. This afternoon, I was grilling chicken on the barbeque. Tucker and Rocky were on the deck with me. The whole time, Tucker was barking, growling and almost attacking................a brass standing candle holder!! It's about 2' high. Then, when he got tired of that, he started barking at the plastic patio chair I was sitting in! The cat was laying on the table out there, watching Tucker with this look that only cats have perfected that said, "you big dummy! But I'm so bored!" lol I wish I could've captured it on my digital. Eliz222
Cairn's are sooo funny! Finch has done this too. She barked for a solid 6 min. at a garden glove my husband left in the yard! Once, she barked at a rake in the grass. Maybe I just need to get my husband to pick up after himself! Wheezie, I wish you could have captured Tucker barking....it would have made a great video! toomanypaws
It is so funny how nothing can be out of place for a cairn. You name it, if it's in the wrong place, the cairns will bark at it. They will spot things clear across the lawn and bark at it. Heaven forbid you leave a rake or shovel where they don't belong. They even bark at garbage bags, if left in the yard before carrying them out front to the curb. The other day I was windexing my windows and apparently dropped some of the paper towel on the living room rug. Within seconds, Kiara started barking frantically from the breakfast room, which has an opening to the living room. I had to laugh as I saw her barking at the paper towel. <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/maiwag/terriersiggy.jpg" border="0" class="linked-sig-image" /> Beth, mom to Ninja (5), Hannah (7), Abbey (7 1/2), Kiara (10)
Guest posting as: Scully'sMom_*
And I thought only Scully did wacky barking like this! She especially hates garbage bags if you're out doing the lawn or anything that as you said isn't normally in her "space." Smart little buggers! kayharley
Today I was programming a new cell phone. One of the tones was of a cat....Madison jumps up on me cocking her head from side to side. Then I change the tone to one of birds and she starts going crazy. Cairns are just so easy to play with...never need coaxing or special toys. hallswel
Rebel does the leaf barking also. It's so funnny. I have decided he is left pawed, he will reach out with that left paw and touch the leaft and when it moves jumps back and barks then it begins again. I to am also glad to know that out of place items make other cairns bark. hallswel
We went camping this weekend in the North Ga Mountains, we have a popup camper and in the morning the wind was blowing leaves around and we were inside the camper lying in bed and Rebel saw the leaves through the canvas and he watched them and when they got close to our heads he would bark and bite at them to protect us. I know other campers around us must have wondered what the laughing. barking and jumping was going on in our camper. What amazes me is that he watched them for at least 15 minutes and until they were all gone would not leave the bed. Guest posting as: derecskey
Our Cairn Bella not only barks at items that are out of place in OUR yard, but at items that are out of place in our NEIGHBOR's yard. If he has a visitor over, she'll bark at their car, their bicycle, you name it.
Scully'sMom
I'm typing this and laughing so hard at the same time. Scully is playing "pattycake" with her dad on the sofa. She thinks he's a big stuffed animal to play with. He has his two hands up and she's jumping up and smacking his hands with her paws. It's a scream. Just had to share.
