Saying Goodbye

It has been a very tough decision, but after 13 and a half years of loving our Cairn, we have decided to say goodbye to him tomorrow. He is suffering from cancer in the form of Mass Cell Tumors. This is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do especially because of how loving my dog is. Right now, although the cancer has taken over his lungs, he tries to kiss me. His eyes tell me that he is ready and that he still loves his family. Do me a favor and be grateful for your dog today.

You've given your boy a lifetime of love and he has returned it. Bless you for caring enough to see him through to the end and having the strength to honor his life by allowing him final comfort. He can never leave you now, as he has become part of you. Wishing you strength, healing, acceptance, peace.

I am so sorry, Terry. I've always felt that having to make that decision is the most unselfish thing a person can do.

I hope you can find comfort in memories and just knowing you gave him such a wonderful, fulfilling life. I believe we reunite with our loving pets again someday.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Terry - - may you find comfort in knowing that you are doing the best thing possible for your dog. Letting go is the most difficult thing you can do but you will never let go of all the wonderful and loving memories you shared together. I will give Riley a special hug today in memory of your dog - - thinking of you. . . .

Embodiment is only one aspect of our totality. Brad is right when he says your cairn is a part of you and will be forever. I believe in the philosophy that as we are never born we can never die. Our animals and loved ones are always with us.

Saying goodbye to our beloved friends is the most difficult thing to do. Making the decision as to when and how is even tougher and the bravest thing. My heart goes out to you in your time of sorrow. I am definitely giving my babies an extra hug today.

Terry,

My heart and my prayers go out to you and your family. I have been where you are now many times having to make the decision to end a beloved pet's suffering. Saying goodbye to them is one of the most difficult, heart wrencing decisions that we, as pet owners can make, and I echo Brad's sentiments that you are honoring this little soul by giving him his final peace. He will always be in your heart and alive in your wonderful memories of him! God bless you Terry!

Terry, I feel so badly for you right now. Making that decision is so, so hard. My own little Lucy crossed the Rainbow Bridge a year and a half ago. Hardest decision I have ever made, but I just couldn't watch her suffer. Know that you are doing the kindest, most loving thing you can for your beloved pet. Blessings to you.

Terry, I feel your pain and my thoughts are with you during this sad time. I want to share a poem that someone shared with me when I had to put my lab to sleep. It's been over 2 yrs now but his love still lives on inside of me. There's a piece of my heart that will always be his.

((((((Hugs)))))))

If it should be that I grow frail and weak

And pain should keep me from my sleep,

Then you must do what must be done

For this, the last battle can't be won.

You'd not want to suffer so

when the time comes, please let me go.

Hug me, stroke me, sing to me

until my eyes no longer see.

I know, in time that you will see,

It is kindness that you do for me.

Although my tail, it's last has waved,

From pain and suffering I've been saved.

Smile, for we walked together

for a little while.
