Guest TarHeel
I was wondering if I should wait a certain amount of time after getting a new Cairn puppy before he and I could make a weekend trip--like to the beach. Does he need to adjust to my home for a while before going elsewhere, or does it not matter?
bradl
Couple of days, maybe? Even when a puppy is in a 'fear period' -- a natural part of their development -- they are incredibly adaptable and for the most part, varied experiences are good for them. Overall, the more safe experiences a puppy can have, the better. CAIRNTALK: Questions? bubba
My vet strongly suggests that our puppies not go anywhere until they are through getting all their vaccinations as they are not protected against things that may be left behind by other pets in public places such as parks, beaches, etc. You might want to check with yours before undertaking your adventure. Have fun! pat. Children don't care how much you know...they want to know how much you care.
