On the posting page, just below the text box where you type your post, there is a section called, File Attachments. Attachments don't show up on Preview Post, and previewing clears your attachment -- so first you write your post, then preview it, THEN use the attachment field to browse to and select your attachment, THEN hit Add Reply.

Simpler and better to host the picture somewhere else, and insert it into the post using IMG tags.
