splinter/gagging

wags

Recommended Posts

We had to take wes to the vet because he had something in his throat. I noticed him acting peculiarly in the back yard. I tried to use the heimlich maneuver or to make him throw up. There were two strange black dots in his vomit, and he still kept hiccuping and smacking his lips.

I was scared so we made an appointment at the vet, but by the time we saw him, Wes's symptoms had abated. (Isn't that always the case!)

The vet said Wes probably had a pine cone piece stuck in his throat. He said we should feed him rice and baby food /cottage cheese for a couple of days and just watch him.

While we were at the vet's we remembered he had a splinter. The sliver was in so deep that he had to use a tweezer, needlenose pincher and a needle (to straighten it) to get it out. Wes was crying and nipped the vet's finger.

We got Wes home and gave him cottage cheese. No problem!
