bradl
Somehow I knew it was inevitable that I'd be called upon to be the grinch on Christmas. A reminder regarding forum guidelines - Cairn Talk is not a vehicle for cross-posting, broadcasting, or hosting messages from other boards or email lists, and with limited exceptions (projects of the host club and it's affiliated clubs), it's not a vehicle for fund-raising either. Cross-posting is explicitly addressed in Guideline 6: Note: if you ever receive an email urging you to post something to every source you know, absolutely do not post it to Cairn Talk. Signatures are a reasonable place to promote activities and causes that you may be involved in, provided the signature otherwise conforms to forum guidelines in letter and spirit. (All forum rules apply to signatures as well as posts, but I'm inclined to allow more slack in signatures.) To answer the inevitable question: signatures that are distracting from the post content, are routinely larger - either visually or in screen real estate - than the accompanying post, or accompany posts that appear to exist primarily to provide a reason for the signature to appear - all would be outside the spirit of the guidelines.
